Imagine That Creative Team

This was another fun illustration project for my friends over at Imagine That Creative. These guys are web design super heroes and they wanted a set of caricatures to present on their website. I love drawing cartoons. Graphic design on the computer can get very stale and I always appreciate when my clients want something with actual illustrations.

My cartooning process is pretty simple:

I start with some pencil sketches to figure out the direction I want to go:

 
Using tracing paper and my light table I tighten up the drawing, then I switch from pencil to a small paint brush. I prefer paintbrushes to markers because the brush strokes create warmer, more-organic linework.

Once I have the black and white where I like it, I’ll scan the art and bring it in to PhotoShop.

Since these cartoons are only going to be used on their website, I decided to add the color in PhotoShop instead of on paper.
